Use Brief with authority over the code and data you connect.

These terms cover the early-access Brief web service and connector. By using Brief, you agree to use it only on systems and data you are authorized to access.

The service

Brief provides local coding-agent context, maps, workflow guidance, review checks, and optional team-cloud records. Features may change during early access. Brief is not an autonomous source of legal, security, compliance, or production-approval decisions; users remain responsible for reviewing agent output and changes. The local Brief Connector distributed as the runbrief npm package is licensed under Apache-2.0; that license does not grant access to the hosted Brief service or its APIs.

Accounts and authorization

Keep account and connector credentials secure. Do not share a connector credential outside its intended workspace. You must have permission to scan each repo, process each task or runtime record, invite each teammate, and sync each piece of team data.

Acceptable use

Do not use Brief to access systems without authorization, expose secrets or personal data, distribute malware, evade security controls, interfere with the service, or violate applicable law. Do not rely on Brief as the sole control for safety-critical or high-impact decisions.

Customer content

You retain rights in the repos, instructions, and workspace data you provide. You grant Brief only the permission needed to process that content for the service and the privacy mode you selected. Brief retains rights in its software, product design, and documentation.

Paid plans

Paid Team plans renew automatically for the billing interval and active-member quantity shown in Stripe Checkout. The workspace owner authorizes charges, taxes where applicable, and future renewals when completing checkout. Owners can manage or cancel a subscription from Settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless law requires otherwise. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

Availability and warranties

Early-access Brief is provided as available without a guaranteed uptime or support SLA. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without implied warranties. You are responsible for backups, source control, tests, reviews, deployment gates, and rollback plans for changes made with coding agents.

Ending use

You may stop using the local connector at any time and can export or delete cloud workspace data from Settings. Brief may suspend access needed to protect customers, the service, or third parties from abuse or security risk. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@runbrief.ai.
